My aunty came to visit me and Nic today. She braved the drive down and we all braved the walk into Crystal Palace for a roast dinner. If you really focus you can see the outlines of the London skyline – it was incredibly foggy today!
London has gone chilly this week. So much so we’ve gone double duvet on our bed as we’re yet to set up our heating properly for the winter… Brrrr…
I went to a “swap shop” today at a vegan cafe with two friends. You basically bring along good quality clothes you no longer need, get given some tokens and then you can take away anything of what everyone else brought along! They also had a interesting speaker talk about how to have a sustainable wardrobe.
Today was a different kind of day. But one that was much needed after the last week of running around. A day of relaxation inside whilst the weather was chaotic outside.
I’m back home in London! I start my new contract on Monday so I still had today off to frolic around. I went into town to get some shopping done and went via the beautiful Barbican Centre as a detour to lunch with an old colleague.
We head home today! Our Eurostar tickets allowed us to get off at Brussels for the day before our proper international train home. We strolled round the city walking miles before finally settling at a bar for a couple of final beers. This was our first trip to Belgium and it certainly won’t be out last.
Today we climbed the 366 steps up the Belfort Tower and got defended by the incredible bells.. We had gorgeous views of the square though! And then followed it up with a huge mug of hot chocolate.
Bruges is truly gorgeous. We’ve had a fantastic day mulling around, taking photos and drinking beer. We’ve been so lucky with the weather as well. Belgium has been wonderful so far!
After a minor delay and a few mini bottles of wine, we’ve made it to Bruges! Our short getaway between contracts has begun and we’ve already had chips and mayo, perfect.
Today I went for a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed afternoon tea at One Aldwych with mum and Nic. Biggest revelation is the not pictured coronation cauliflower sandwiches which were incredibly tasty. Lemon sherbet candy floss was also highly rated by us all.
