Making sure nothing goes to waste! Today’s lunch was this whipped together tart of mozzarella, tomato and the left over puff pastry from Sunday’s pie. It wasn’t as delicious as it looks, but it did the job!
The hot weather has been well and truly blown away… Today our tree has been waving like mad all day. Nothing much else to report today, popped to the post office after work and had left over pie for lunch (yum!)
I ran another lockdown half marathon today! I’m super pleased! I then made a veggie chicken and asparagus pie from scratch. It’s my fave thing to make as it’s so delicious! What a great Sunday, definitely ready for my beddy now though.
I try to always have one biography, one fiction and one non-fiction book on the go, so I can switch between them depending on my mood. My current non-fiction is taking me a while to get through as it’s quite heavy. Thinking Fast and Slow is all about how the mind comprehends different types of information. It’s already very interesting, but I think I’ll be reading it for a while!
We finally got some rain today so it already feels much cooler in the house. It’s been a bit too hot for me these last few days, and I’m now looking forward to the slightly cooler weather we have forecast! It did make for a lovely sunset though.
Our sweetcorn has started to flower! I’m not really holding out hope that we’ll get any actual cobs as they are notoriously hard to germinate… But they do look pretty impressive right now!
It is hot again today in London. I tried doing speed training this morning but it was already far too hot for me I quickly couldn’t hold my fast pace! The rest of the day was spent working with all the windows open… It’s so waaaaarm.
As of today I’ve now folded 710 colourful paper cranes! Just 290 to go… I make them in meetings to keep my hands busy so I can concentrate. I’m not sure what I’ll do once I finish, but I need to think of something as the end is in sight!
Gorgeous day today, sadly I was stuck inside working but it’s nice to have the window open! This week it’s hotting up in London, I’m quite excited to put our new fan to the limits. This evening Nic and I went on a lovely walk around a local wooded park which was gorgeous in the setting sun.
Ran an early 10k this morning to get out before the heat. I then spent the rest of the day lazing around the house, relaxing. Nic and I did venture out again after dinner for a trek to find a specific bag of crisps from a Polish shop 2 miles away… The things you do for your fave snack!
