I’m pretty sure I’ve done this title before.. anyway, yes, I’m ill. Turns out I did call it yesterday and woke up today feeling rubbish, and was in bed all day being looked after by the lovely Sue! This was the only photo I took, when I remembered I needed one for my blog.
Someone mentioned this morning on Reddit that it was “Baby Squirrel Season”, I had nothing planned for my Sunday so I thought “why the hell not”! Chucked my bobble hat and scarf on, and got the tube to St James’ Park by Buckingham Palace. The squirrels are quite tame! I think it’s a mix between being quite young/naive and being used to being fed by the humans there. They would try to run up your legs for food! I have a few more photos of the squirrels on my Flickr so check that out for more fluffy cuteness!
Today was great fun! Met up with a few people from work for lunch, and then we met up with a lot more of our company out on a massive pub crawl around London (totally 12 hours of drinking, but we only joined them for 6 hours of it). It was big laugh, and I had a great time. Managed to remember to take a photo, just by Fenchurch Street, as the sun was setting.
I was stood on our balcony this morning, trying to judge whether to wear a coat or not (spoiler alert, I should have), when I noticed this skyline. It was so foggy in London that it created this lovely outline of some of London’s famous landmarks. Such as the Gherkin (middle back, very faded), St Pauls Cathedral (far right), and the newest of all, the building site of the new Walkie Talkie (20 Fenchurch Street, far left). Although I do love a crisp, clear, blue skyline, I do love a damp, foggy morning also – there leaves a somewhat a hidden mystery.
P.S I’ve written a blog post on my ‘main’ blog! http://stephjonesblog.wordpress.com/
Dieting is hard in this office sometimes, definitely on days where this is plonked on your desk! Not that I’m complaining too much, it was very generous of them and tasty! On a compltelly opposite note, I ran 4.4km this morning! The most I’ve ever done in one go, and I’m actually excited to go on my next run!
After work Nick and I went to the London Dungeons and the London Eye! I was very scared for the dungeons, I hate people jumping out on me, but it was amazing! We had such a good time, I definitely screamed a few times, but the rides were awesome, and the actors were very scary and funny. London Eye was great (my third time in two weeks!), though we did see a thunder storm while we were on it, which was a bit unnerving!
I went for a run today at 6:15am, me! Of all people, you’d least expect. I’m enjoying this running malark. After that it was another normal day at the office (heh, I can say that now). With a quick tube ride at lunchtime to Strand to get a refund from Pizza Hut who charged me TWICE on Saturday! Grrr. Should get some free pizza from it though!
Photo is of my leg in the tube station while waiting for my train. Winter coat is on!
It’s safe to say I was knackered today. As I write this at 10:38pm, I plan to be fast asleep within 22 minutes. It was a normal Monday full of work and sorting out bills, not the most thrilling of days. Without being all negative I had the last of my sister’s home-made carrot and coriander soup for dinner and it was really lovely. I also wore my big grey socks and boots. Mmm Autumn comforts.
Sunday’s are fast becoming my running and relaxing day recently whilst I’m in London (aka, when I’m not on the road). Today I ran 4km in one go in 25 minutes! Now that may not seem much to a lot of people, but it’s a huge deal for me. I’ve never ‘been a runner’ but I’ve just finished week 7 of NHS Couch to 5k and feel amazing about it! I’ve slimmed down, and really feeling like I’ve accomplished something! Only 2 more weeks on this program and I should be running kilometres in 30 minutes! I’m on track to my main goal, running a marathon before I’m 25.
(By the way, apologies for the shoddy photo, I need to start paying more attention to photos after my runs!)
