Well the main Olympics are over for now, until a couple weeks when the Paralympics kick off! The stadium is certainly a lot quieter, but there still seems to be some life in it left! With the lights still on, I assume some practicing is being done for the soon to arrive Paralympics! How exciting, round two!
Well this certainly says it all. Tonight was the closing ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed living in such a prime area for being surrounded by the Olympic atmosphere, and tonight was no different. After a lazy day around Bow, we decided to stay in and watch the ceremony from our balcony with a glass of wine. I adore fireworks, and seeing them splash out of the Olympic Stadium was nothing but a delight. Bring on the Paralympics!
Today was such a nice day! Claire and I went around London in search for Cream tea as we really fancied a day out in London, and scones! We eventually found some in the Tate Modern (and they were amazing!), after frolicking around in water fountains, watching a bit of the Olympics and walking miles on end! It was a great day, and I went off to get a few cliché photos I’ve always wanted. A really good Saturday all in all!
Took the opportunity to explore Aldgate East (where I work) a bit more today! In my lunchbreak I walked to the Whitechapel Gallery, and wandered around for a while. It was a lovely break from work, as there’s a lot of film work on display, so I could just sit down and watch art movies! Well recommended for a visit.
Claire and I went to see McFly today!! They performed in Hyde Park as part of the BT Live festival. And before anyone makes fun of me, I loved it, and don’t care! It was amazing seeing them live, and I’ll be dead cold before I’ll turn down the opportunity to dance around in a field to some upbeat music! Love it!
