16/08/2012 – Retired Stadium

Well the main Olympics are over for now, until a couple weeks when the Paralympics kick off! The stadium is certainly a lot quieter, but there still seems to be some life in it left! With the lights still on, I assume some practicing is being done for the soon to arrive Paralympics! How exciting,Continue reading “16/08/2012 – Retired Stadium”

12/08/2012 – Olympics Closing Ceremony

Well this certainly says it all. Tonight was the closing ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed living in such a prime area for being surrounded by the Olympic atmosphere, and tonight was no different. After a lazy day around Bow, we decided to stay in and watch the ceremony from our balcony with aContinue reading “12/08/2012 – Olympics Closing Ceremony”

11/08/2012 – Touristing Around London

Today was such a nice day! Claire and I went around London in search for Cream tea as we really fancied a day out in London, and scones! We eventually found some in the Tate Modern (and they were amazing!), after frolicking around in water fountains, watching a bit of the Olympics and walking miles onContinue reading “11/08/2012 – Touristing Around London”

07/08/2012 – Whitechapel Gallery at Lunch

Took the opportunity to explore Aldgate East (where I work) a bit more today! In my lunchbreak I walked to the Whitechapel Gallery, and wandered around for a while. It was a lovely break from work, as there’s a lot of film work on display, so I could just sit down and watch art movies!Continue reading “07/08/2012 – Whitechapel Gallery at Lunch”

06/08/2012 – Cycle cycle!

Tidied up the last tonight, found all of my Barclay’s Bikes receipts, seems like I cycle, a lot. In the… just over three weeks (wow) I’ve lived in London, I’ve hired a bike 32 times, not including the receipts I’ve just thrown away. My yearly bike ‘key’ should arrive tomorrow, fingers crossed!

05/08/2012 – Olympics Blimp!

This has been floating around the Olympics Stadium since a few days before the opening ceremony. I’ve been meaning to take a photo of it for ages, and finally remembered! We like to think it’s just one man that’s been living in it since it ‘took off’.

04/08/2012 – We saw McFly! Loving life.

Claire and I went to see McFly today!! They performed in Hyde Park as part of the BT Live festival. And before anyone makes fun of me, I loved it, and don’t care! It was amazing seeing them live, and I’ll be dead cold before I’ll turn down the opportunity to dance around in a field to some upbeatContinue reading “04/08/2012 – We saw McFly! Loving life.”

02/08/2012 – Olympic Village Outskirts

Claire and I went to Victoria Park today for ‘BT live’ after work. We went on the ferris wheel and saw some amazing views over London (annoying, I forgot my SLR, and my phone photos were quite poor). Whilst walking home we went a bit off route to see how close we could get toContinue reading “02/08/2012 – Olympic Village Outskirts”

30/07/2012 – ‘Barclies’ Bikes

Back in work today after a relaxing weekend. Not much happened today, but I did spot this just before I grabbed my bike to go home. I’ve been using ‘Barclays Bikes’ to get to and from work. They work out at £1 a day (I’m going to buy a yearly membership tomorrow for £48, bargin!),Continue reading “30/07/2012 – ‘Barclies’ Bikes”

28/07/2012 – Walking around London

The weekend has arrived! And after a well deserved lie-in, Claire and I went on another explore around London. We walked to Mile End park first off to eat lunch, along the way we saw a large protest about a number of different causes, its exciting living in london and bumping into these things. AfterContinue reading “28/07/2012 – Walking around London”
