29/08/2012 – Round two: Paralympics!

Tonight was the opening ceremony of the Paralympics! We know this from the amount of helicopters that have reappeared around Bow area, but we’re happy to see fireworks again. I’ll be sad when it’s all over, it’s been great fun. And I’m looking forward to catching some of the upcoming events!

12/08/2012 – Olympics Closing Ceremony

Well this certainly says it all. Tonight was the closing ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed living in such a prime area for being surrounded by the Olympic atmosphere, and tonight was no different. After a lazy day around Bow, we decided to stay in and watch the ceremony from our balcony with a glass of wine. I adore fireworks, and seeing them splash out of the Olympic Stadium was nothing but a delight. Bring on the Paralympics!

06/08/2012 – Cycle cycle!

Tidied up the last tonight, found all of my Barclay’s Bikes receipts, seems like I cycle, a lot. In the… just over three weeks (wow) I’ve lived in London, I’ve hired a bike 32 times, not including the receipts I’ve just thrown away. My yearly bike ‘key’ should arrive tomorrow, fingers crossed!

04/08/2012 – We saw McFly! Loving life.

Claire and I went to see McFly today!! They performed in Hyde Park as part of the BT Live festival. And before anyone makes fun of me, I loved it, and don’t care! It was amazing seeing them live, and I’ll be dead cold before I’ll turn down the opportunity to dance around in a field to some upbeat music! Love it!

02/08/2012 – Olympic Village Outskirts

Claire and I went to Victoria Park today for ‘BT live’ after work. We went on the ferris wheel and saw some amazing views over London (annoying, I forgot my SLR, and my phone photos were quite poor). Whilst walking home we went a bit off route to see how close we could get to the Olympic Village. This was about as far as we got, soon after they were asking for tickets, but it was really fun and interesting to see the walk up!
